Rachid Bouzouba is Co-CEO and Founding Partner of MCM Partners. Prior to this appointment, he was head of Global Equities at Nomura. In this capacity, he was a member of the Global Wholesale Executive Committee of the firm and Chairman of the Global Equities Executive Committee.
Rachid joined Nomura as head of Equities, EMEA in October 2008. As head of Equities EMEA at Lehman Brothers, he negotiated and arranged the Nomura acquisition of 750 equity staff and 2000 support personnel in Europe following the Lehman bankruptcy in 2008. Within the first 12 months at Nomura, Rachid and his colleagues built a profitable European Equities business for Nomura and became the largest Equities broker on the London Stock Exchange.
During his tenure at Nomura, Rachid built many businesses from near-scratch including the European Cash and Electronic businesses, Principal Trading in EMEA and Asia, the US derivatives, convertible bonds, Electronic and Program businesses and the Asian derivatives business.
He joined Lehman Brothers in May 2003 and was promoted several times during his employment with the firm. His positions included head of structured trading, head of European Derivatives trading, and head of European Equities trading in early 2006. He also founded and ran the Risk Hub: an internal proprietary Equity Multi-strategy trading desk managing up to $3bn.
In May 2007, he was promoted to co-head of the European Equities business before becoming sole head in 2008.
He started his career with Société Générale Paris in 1992 before moving to Credit Lyonnais Securities where he co-founded the Derivatives business.
Rachid holds an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and a postgraduate degree in mathematical finance and economics from the French Statistics Institute (ENSAE).
Adrian Valenzuela is Co-CEO and Founding Partner of MCM Partners. He relocated to Hong Kong in early 2011 and joined Barclays Capital as a Managing Director and Head of Distribution for Equity Liquid Markets across the Asia Pacific Region. He played a central role in the firm’s expansion, participating in the hiring of circa 200 staff recruited across sales, trading and research. He was a member of the Global Equities Management Committee, Asia Sales Management Committee, and Asian Equities Executive and Management Committees.
He previously worked for JP Morgan from early 2007 and had several promotions during his time, latterly co-heading the global distribution across cash equities and equity derivatives for the equity division, and was part of the Global Equities Executive Committee, Equity Derivatives Global Management Committee and the Global Cash Equity Management Committee. He managed a sales force of over 500 sales professionals across the globe delivering sales, trading and advisory to global institutional investors and corporations across equity products.
Between 2006 and 2007 Adrian ran the Alpha Strategies Group for Merrill Lynch International, working on advisory projects for various institutional investors across asset classes, and coordinating the strategic marketing campaigns across the equity division. In 2005 he was a Founding Partner and Head of Marketing and Product Development for Wealth Management Group (WMG), an alternative asset management firm. He worked extensively in new fund development and capital-raising for various funds.
Previously, Adrian worked at Lehman Brothers International as head of Pan-European flow derivatives sales, including the coverage of global hedge funds for European derivative markets. He worked at Morgan Stanley New York from 1998 until 2002, as head equity derivative sales for Latin America and in the derivatives sales team for US hedge funds. In early 2002 he transferred to London as a senior sales person for the European Hedge Fund sales desk for equity derivatives, also heading the sales teams for Southern Europe and France.
Adrian holds a BA in Economics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico as well as various other certificates and degrees including graduating from the Stanford University Senior Leadership program. He started his career in emerging markets, trading fixed income securities for Santander from 1991 through 1994, and later moving to ING Barings as part of their equities, equity strategy and equity derivatives teams.
Keith Law is a specialist in quantitative and derivatives strategy and has extensive experience in portfolio analytics, derivative modelling and strategy designs.
With over 10 years of experience within the investment banking industry, he started his career in the Valuation Risk Group at Credit Suisse in 2004 where he validated derivative pricing models and complex structured products. He later joined JP Morgan’s Quantitative Research group in 2005 to start the derivative modelling effort in Asia for Equity Derivatives trading. After a few years of experience in derivatives modelling, Keith made a switch to the Quantitative and Derivatives strategy role at Morgan Stanley in 2007 where he designed market-driven trading ideas to clients, managed pair trading analysis, monitored index change predictions and constructed quantitative dynamic strategies with systematic outperformance. In 2011, he joined UBS and headed the strategy efforts for both Global Synthetic Equity and Equity Derivatives in Asia.
Keith is the pioneer in the co-integration pair trading using a ‘rubber-band’ theory and an optimal window search. In derivatives research, he developed a unique volatility trading model using autocorrelation function together with a risk neutral translation of skews and term structures. In the multi-asset space, he originated a new quantitative approach to explain the cross sectional variations and macro interaction of multi-asset classes under a PCA framework.
Keith joined MCM Partners in May 2013 as a partner with his expertise in quantitative modelling and strategy designs.
Keith studied at the University of California at Berkeley and holds a Master degree in Financial Engineering. Keith also holds the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation.
With over 10 years’ experience gained within boutique Investment Banks, Vivian oversees cash and derivatives dealing, block crossing and executions at MCM Partners, and is responsible for all aspects of due diligence, regulatory notifications and licensing.
Prior to joining us at launch in 2012, she was AVP Operations at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, having been a key member of the founding team that launched the Asia Office in 2009.
Vivian previously held positions at Fox-Pitt, Kelton and Canaccord Genuity, having graduated the University of Toronto’s BA Economic Specialist Program in 2003.
Before joining MCM Partners, Wenbin worked as a partner for ExPartage, a major expert network in Mainland China providing research and FA services to Chinese institutional investors. From 2012 to 2014, Wenbin worked as the Sales Director for Sumberg Advisory, the leading independent research house in Mainland China. Sumberg is renowned for its research on macroeconomics, TMT and thematics. He was also in charge of TMT research, serving the largest institutional investors and sovereign funds across the Mainland. Wenbin started his career with AXA Investment Managers (Investment Solutions Department) before moving to Société Générale in Paris, working for the fixed income department on the pricing system.
Wenbin holds a Master of Science degree in Artificial Intelligence from l’Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA) in Toulouse, France.
Saurabh Devendra Singh
Alan is former head of Securities for Greater China and is a member of the China Operating Committee for Goldman Sachs Asia. He joined the firm as a Managing Director in 2009 and was named Partner in 2010.
Prior to joining the firm, Alan worked for two years at Deutsche Bank, where he was head of the Institutional Client Group of China and head of Global Markets Equity of China. Previously, Alan was the founder and chief executive officer of AnJia Group from 1999 to 2007. He was head of Greater China and chief financial officer of Asia Pacific with Koch Industries, Inc. from 1996 to 1999. Earlier in his career, Alan worked at First National Bank of Boston and New England Mutual Life Insurance Company for seven years.
Alan serves on the Advisory Board of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Antai College of Economics and Management. He was appointed advisor for the China Securities Regulation Committee in 2003. Alan was also engaged by China Development Bank as advisor of securitization in 2004.
Alan earned a master’s degree in economic development from Southern New Hampshire University.
Didier is a global market specialist and President at delivery.com APAC Region. He is also a 20+ year veteran of Cantor Fitzgerald’s global executive team, Didier served as the Executive Managing Director of Cantor Fitzgerald in New York for 3 years, London for 16 years and Hong Kong for 3 years. Didier was responsible for the global equity derivatives businesses, as well as overseeing all European and Asian equity brokerage businesses, along with business development projects in Singapore, Thailand, Europe and the Middle East.
In 2013, Didier made a move to Cantor Ventures switching from capital markets to entrepreneurship. Charged with bringing delivery.com to Asia, Didier launched and oversees the e-commerce platform, which serves both B2B and B2C needs. Exposed to a wide variety of tastes throughout his life, having lived in major world capitals, Didier has become accustomed to Hong Kong’s fast-changing food & beverage industry.
In 2016, Didier sold delivery.com Asia to a large operator in the same industry. Since then, he has been successfully taking participation into several tech companies. He also provides advisory services to institutional clients.
